Tim Dare
Colac, Victoria
Tim was 8 when he lost his father to suicide, leaving his mother, two older brothers and two younger brothers to deal with having to grieve and rebuild their lives.
Since Tim has started supporting our charity in February 2015 he has fundraised a total of $11,000, which has enabled us to send out copies of the educational resource Red Chocolate Elephants to schools, counsellors, community services and funeral homes within the Colac Community.
Growing up, Tim was 8 when he lost his father to suicide, leaving his mother, two older brothers and two younger brothers to deal with having to grieve and rebuild their lives. At the time he told us he had some tough emotions to deal with and had many questions unanswered. He wished at the time he had a book like Red Chocolate Elephants to help him and his family recover from their loss.
Tim also assisted our project coordinator to successfully obtain grant funding from The South West Grants and Isobel and David Jones Family Foundation in Victoria to donate 70 Red Chocolate Elephant resources to primary schools in the South West region of Victoria.
We thank Tim for all he has done for WINGS of Hope and his local community bereaved by suicide and for being a wonderful WINGS of Hope Ambassador.
